Hold onto your blue berets, Airstreamers – we’re hitting a major milestone! In 2025, Airstream Club International (ACI), is celebrating 70 incredible years of adventure, camaraderie and exploration! And trust us, this is one road trip you won’t want to miss!
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Picture this: It’s Aug. 3, 1955. A group of Airstream enthusiasts traveling on the Eastern Canada Caravan, gather at a stop in Kentville, Nova Scotia. Inspired by Airstream inventor and seasoned caravan leader Wally Byam, and led by Helen Byam Schwamborn, these early pioneers of Airstream travel officially form the Wally Byam Caravan Club.
Fast-forward seven decades, and the club, now known as Airstream Club International, has grown into a thriving community of more than 19,000 members across the U.S., Canada, and Europe – all united by our love of adventure, lifelong learning, and the unmistakable silver bullet trailers that have captured the hearts for generations of travelers.
A YEAR-LONG CELEBRATION!
To commemorate this monumental anniversary, ACI is rolling out a full year of special events and initiatives that will celebrate the rich history and vibrant future of our club. Here’s what’s in store:
The Grand Celebration: The ACI International Rally in York, Pennsylvania, from August 23-28, will be the biggest party of the year! Thousands of Airstreamers will gather for entertainment, educational seminars, and special events that pay tribute to our club’s incredible journey.
Regional and Local Celebrations: Celebrate 70 years with your fellow local club members at events, caravans and rallies throughout the year! Including the Region 1 Rally in September. They are celebrating the 70th Anniversary where it all began – Nova Scotia! The Meandering the Maritimes Caravan will also end there to join the party! Historical Retrospective: Get ready for a walk down memory lane with a special showcase of archival photos, personal stories, and vintage memorabilia that highlight the evolution of Airstream culture. Whether you’re a longtime club member or a brand-new enthusiast, you’ll love seeing how the Airstream lifestyle has grown over the years.
Oral History Project: Share Your Story!
Have an unforgettable Airstream Club memory? Now’s your chance to be part of history! We invite all members to contribute to the ACI Oral History Project by uploading photos and videos celebrating what makes the club so special. Share your favorite club moments, tell us why you’re proud to be an ACI member, and record a special message for the club’s 70th Anniversary.
Where to Upload: Head to the Airstream Club International 70th Anniversary Album to submit your content.* You’ll be asked to fill out your name and BRN and then you can choose your photos and videos to upload. Easy as that!
Photo Tips: When uploading your photos, be sure to include your event name, location, and date in the caption and your name so we can properly archive your story.
Video Tips for the Best Recording:
- Lighting & Sound: Stay out of the wind, ensure good lighting, and record in a quiet spot. Also, turn your phone to film in a landscape format.
- Scenic Backdrop: If possible, film inside or in front of your Airstream for an authentic touch.
- Speak from the Heart: Share what ACI means to you and your best wishes for the future of the club.
