Club Approves Finance Director Position

Between June 20 and June 27, 2024, the Club membership voted on and approved a proposal to amend the WBCCI International Board’s Constitution. The amendment includes changing the title of Treasurer to Finance Director and revising the process for seating the Finance Director.

Of the 17,666 total eligible voters, 6,333 participated in the vote (36%), exceeding the minimum constitutional participation level of 20%. The proposal received 86.7% approval, while 13.3% voted against it, exceeding the required 66% approval level. We were pleased that out of our 17,666 eligible voters (members), only 1,051 ballots (6%) were returned as “undeliverable.” In addition, 12 paper ballots were received and mailed.

The selection of the next Finance Director will occur on or around August 2025. As a reminder, this is a non-voting volunteer position, available to any member. The final selection of the Finance Director will be the full 21-member International Board of Trustees. Look for more information, including criteria for application and job responsibilities in the early spring of 2025.

On behalf of the International Board of Trustees (IBT), I thank you for the strong voting response, your discussions within your Local Clubs and Regions, and ultimately for helping the IBT improve its financial insight and oversight. Sure it’s the “Business Side” of our Club, but we needed your support to achieve our strategic initiative of “improved financial analysis, reporting and transparency.”
