IBT Update: Keeping Members in the Know

As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen communication with our membership, the International Board of Trustees (IBT) is pleased to introduce a regular column in the Blue Beret. The goal is simple: to keep our members “in the know” about the work your elected leadership is doing on your behalf. We recognize that decisions made at the Executive Council (EC) and IBT levels often affect the entire club, and we want to ensure that members have timely, clear, and transparent updates on the conversations, decisions, and initiatives shaping the future of Airstream Club International (ACI).

This first column provides a recap of several recent meetings and working sessions. While these summaries can’t capture every detail, they offer a snapshot of the issues under discussion and the direction in which we’re moving.

Executive Council Meeting – August 6, 2025

The Aug. 6 EC meeting focused on final preparations for the 2025 International Rally in York, Pennsylvania. Updates were provided on site logistics, volunteer recruitment, and vendor coordination. The EC also discussed improvements to our technology platforms, including the continued rollout of the ACI Member App. The app will soon include enhanced event listings, BRN lookup, and communication tools to improve the member experience.

Another key topic was financial stewardship. The Council reviewed mid-year budget performance and discussed strategies for managing rally costs while maintaining the high-quality programming our members expect. Sponsorships and partnerships were also highlighted as critical tools for sustaining and growing our events.

IBT Meeting – August 7, 2025

The full Board gathered on Aug. 7 to review reports from standing committees and to consider motions related to club governance. A central theme was enhancing transparency and inclusivity in how the IBT communicates with members.

Discussion also touched on streamlining the motion process to ensure clarity and consistency. This included updating templates for submitting motions, as well as strengthening procedures for documenting votes. Additionally, the Board explored opportunities to expand Intra-Clubs and special-interest groups as a way to grow membership engagement and meet the diverse needs of our community.

Executive Council Meeting – September 3, 2025

The Sept. 3 meeting followed shortly after the close of the International Rally in York, Pennsylvania. Much of the discussion centered on reviewing the successes of the rally and identifying lessons learned for future events. Trustees and officers shared feedback on logistics, programming, and member engagement, noting the strong turnout and enthusiastic participation.

The EC also discussed how to build on the energy from York by strengthening follow-up with new members who joined at the rally and by capturing ideas for improvements while they are still fresh. Other topics included refining our approach to sponsorships, evaluating vendor support, and exploring ways to make future rallies even more accessible and inclusive.

IBT Working Session – September 18, 2025

The Sept. 18 working session focused on strengthening communication and collaboration between the Executive Council and Region Presidents. A key outcome was the assignment of liaison pairs — matching each EC member with a Region President as a Liaison to the Intra-Clubs. This structure is intended to provide more consistent support, ensure intraclub voices are heard, and give leaders clear points of contact within ACI’s governance.

The Board also reviewed and discussed several pending motions, using the session to clarify language, surface questions, and prepare for upcoming votes. These conversations help streamline the decision-making process and ensure that motions are well-understood before coming to the floor.

Looking Ahead

These meetings reflect the ongoing, behind-the-scenes work that keeps Airstream Club International strong, vibrant, and forward-looking. Whether it’s preparing for our next International Rally, refining governance processes, or ensuring our Intra-Clubs and regions have the support they need, the IBT and EC are committed to serving you—our members.

We hope this new column helps bridge the gap between boardroom discussions and your everyday experiences as a member. After all, this club belongs to all of us, and your voices and perspectives guide our decisions.

Stay tuned for future updates in the Blue Beret. In the meantime, we encourage you to stay engaged by attending local rallies, sharing feedback with your trustees, and keeping the spirit of community alive wherever your Airstream takes you.
