It sure has been a busy summer here in Airstream World. As many of you know, the joy of camping serves as a respite from many of the world’s troubles. We find a place that provides a sanctuary from discord while we sit around a campfire and share our common passion for this unique lifestyle — what brings us together is far more important than our differences. The big picture here is that very few folks in life carve out time to converse, create community through shared meals, happy hours, campfires, and a friendly “Safe travels, see you down the road!” while allowing themselves to remain open to new friends, new adventures, and ultimately new perspectives.
Through learning about Wally Byam’s personal vision, we recognize that he saw this Airstream world as an opportunity to become ambassadors of good fellowship and kindness.

His creed is quite amazing because its message still rings true 70-plus years later. Should we see this as the guidepost to aim our greatest Club ambitions toward? I believe we should. Striving to be our best selves while the rest of the world seems ready to denounce civility takes a certain strength of character. I believe our members have that strength, courage, and conviction to leave divisiveness in the rear-view mirror and focus forward to see the greater good within each of us. To me, that is why this Club is able to celebrate 70 years, and that vision is what will allow us to celebrate 70 more.
