Fellow Members,
I hope all is well with you! By the time you read this, we’ll be 2,000 miles into our latest cross-country journey from our home in Santa Rosa, CA (wine country, just north of San Francisco) to Jackson Center, OH, and back to Wyoming for our Rally2023 International Rally. If we don’t see you in Wyoming, we hope to run into you at other events nationwide, including our Rally2024 in Sedalia, MO, and Rally2025 in York, PA.
Meet Some of our Members
Last month I spoke about the importance of our Airstream Club community in supporting the social fabric we, as humans, fundamentally need. I talked about how our Airstream Club community goes beyond learning about and traveling in our Airstreams. Basically, getting together face to face, spending time with our far-flung friends and meeting people from distinctly different backgrounds.
So for this month, I’d like to introduce you to some of your fellow members whom LaVerne and I had the fortune to meet as we journeyed cross country. But as you read this, don’t think about our experiences but think about how you can expand your enjoyment of our Club through using our Courtesy Parking benefit, signing up for events or rallies outside of your home area, or just introducing yourself to fellow members (or prospective members).
Courtesy Parking
Undoubtedly, this is one of the less-known benefits of being an ACI member! You have access to over 500 fellow members who offer up their yards, farms, and driveways to fellow members for overnight parking. Go to our online Courtesy Parking Directory (login required) and ask if a spot is available: airstreamclub.org/members/courtesy-parking-directory. We have had numerous enjoyable overnights with members; check it out.

Another Unexpected Surprise in Nebraska
As we traveled through the Midwest, we had the opportunity to meet and spend time with a long-time WBCCI (ACI) member. Fran had reached out to us with a heartwarming note about her 50+ years in our Club and the enduring friendships she and her husband Bob developed at the Unit/Club, Region and International level. It turned out that our journey brought us near her home, so we were able to stop by for a wonderful visit. It was one of the highlights of our trip and underscored the magic of our Club.

Meeting the Central Indiana Airstream Club
As we continued across the country, we realized the CIAC was hosting its season opener rally in southern Indiana. So, of course, we registered online and scored one of the last two spots. How? Go to our Events page (airstreamclub.org/events) and filter by date, state, or Club. Click on an event of interest, then see if space is available using the contact information shown on the event.
CIAC welcomed us (as if we were from Indiana!), and we joined their 25-Airstream rally for a great Cinco de Mayo-themed weekend at a fantastic Indiana state park. We’ve done this several times before, and it’s great. Give it a try sometime – it’s one of the benefits of belonging to a Club that offers 500+ events/rallies per year. As always, we departed with many new friends and smiles.

I guess that’s it! Looking forward to seeing you all down the road,
